Mezzo-Soprano Kathleen Otterson is Music Director at Madison’s Christ Presbyterian Church, and Senior Lecturer in Music at Edgewood College, where she teaches private and group voice, and directs the Women’s Choir. She also maintains a small but busy private voice studio in her home. Having sung in choirs for as long as she can remember – beginning with the Chapel Children’s Choir at Fox Point Lutheran Church in Milwaukee as a 2nd grader – these days she is a member of the Isthmus Vocal Ensemble and the Heartland Singers. Kathleen has sung as soloist with, among others, the Oshkosh Symphony, Oshkosh Chamber Singers, Edgewood Chamber Orchestra (Madison), the Rockford Bach Festival, the Beloit-Janesville Symphony, and the UW-Madison Choral Union. Opera credits include principal roles with University Opera, Madison Savoyards and appearances with Madison Opera. Kathleen is an enthusiastic proponent of the art song recital, and performs regularly on the Edgewood College Concert Series and the Bayfield, WI “Summer (Mostly) Thursdays” concert series, and is a member of the Madison Choral Project.
