JAZZ: BURTON LANE
AND JULE STYNE
Wednesday,
August 31, 2011 5:00 & 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, September
1, 2011 5:00 & 8:30
p.m.
Continuing our jazz anniversary series, we offer two centennials
anticipating 2012. Songs of Burton Lane (b. 1912) will feature
lyrics by Frank Loesser and Alan Jay Lerner. Lyrics of Sammy
Cahn (b. 1912) are partnered with frequent collaborator, composer
Jule Styne. These writers wrote the script for the latter part
of the American Songbook era, from the final turbulent months
of World War II to the chrome-plated ’fifties.

MUSIC
OF J. S. BACH
Saturday, September 3, 2011 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 4, 2011 4:00 p.m.
Our concluding concert covers a wide range of Bach’s
music, and stretches across his entire career from 1714 to
1741. From works both great and small, this program is a vivid
reminder of why Bach has been the composer most often performed
at the Token Creek Chamber Music Festival.
