T
HE AESTHETICS OF SCIENCE

Thursday, August 29, 2002 • 8:00 p.m.
• at the barn •

The two fields of music and science might seem to have little in common from the standpoint of aesthetics. In reality, aesthetics plays a very important role in the creative process in both fields. The works of Bach and Einstein share many characteristics, such as the beauty of simple ideas and of growth into a complex and disciplined development. This evening's discussion will focus on the role of aesthetics in physics and astrophysics, along with their musical parallels.

William Jack Fry and Robert March
