Karl Lavine Karl Lavine is principal cellist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and Present Music. He is also a member of the newly formed Kepler Quartet, currently recording all ten string quartets of American composer Ben Johnston. Mr. Lavine holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He currently teaches at Edgewood College.
